A fire destroyed key production areas – from the smokehouse and cooking facilities to salad production. The fish butchery area remained intact and needed to resume operations as quickly as possible. To achieve this, it had to be safely separated from the adjacent construction site and temporarily supplied with external refrigeration. At the same time, dismantling, replanning, and ongoing operations had to be coordinated within a confined space.

Project Workflow
KBG structurally and technically separated the fish processing section from the damaged areas, securing its supply via external refrigeration systems. In parallel, fire-damaged structural elements were dismantled and the site was prepared for new construction. Newly created facilities included areas for fish and salmon processing, smoking, cooking processes, preparation, and salad production, along with the required cold storage spaces. The bistro was also expanded and integrated into the overall operations. Production areas, hygiene concepts, technical interfaces, and operational pathways were planned as an interconnected, coherent system.
THE RESULT
Reconstruction Completed with Uninterrupted Operations
After approximately 1.5 years, the reconstruction was successfully completed, while fish processing continued seamlessly throughout the construction phase. KBG combined operational continuity, specialist planning, and construction execution into a reliable, comprehensive solution.
